ENSEMBLE VINDOBONA has excited
audiences at two concerts in 1996 at Hope Lutheran Church in Seattle and
performed at the Haller Lake Concert series in Seattle on Friday, November
22nd, 1996. In addition, Mary and Ann have performed the Strauss Duet
Concertino with the Philharmonia Northwest to an exuberant crowd in October
1994.
JENNIFER HAMILL first started studying the
piano with her mother and then with Ford Hill at Western Washington University.
She received a Master's degree in piano performance at Arizona State University,
working with former Van Cliburn winner Steven Degroote. In 1991 she completed
a Doctorate with Bela Siki at the University of Washington. She is a recipient
of several scholarships and awards and currently teaches privately in Seattle.
MARY KANTOR, clarinetist, received
her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Washington and graduated
from the Academy of Music in Vienna with highest honors in clarinet performance.
She has studied with David Atkins, William McColl and Rudolf Jettel. Mary
is a founding member of the Johann Strauss Trio and the Mazeltones, both
of which have toured widely and have appeared on television and radio.
As a soloist, she has performed the Mozart concerto with the Philharmonia
Northwest. She has also performed with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera,
Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the Northwest Chamber Orchestra.
ANN KOSANOVIC-BROWN, bassoonist,
received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory. She
also studied at the Mozarteum Hochschule in Salzburg. She received a two-year
scholarship to attend the Karajan Akademie in Berlin, during which time she
performed with the Berlin Philharmonic under Herbert von Karajan. Ann was
the principal bassoonist with the Natal Philharmonic in Durban, South Africa:
Das Symphonie Orchester Berlin; and the Camerata Salzburg. She has also
performed with the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Mozarteum Orchestra and the
Seattle Symphony. She has appeared as a soloist with the Philharmonia Northwest,
the Rainier Symphony, Natal Philharmonic, Jeunesse Orchestra Linz, Capella
Salisburgensis, Round Top Festival Orchestra-Texas, and the Oberlin Chamber
Orchestra. Recently, Ann premiered a concerto that was written especially for her by
Adam Stern with the Rainier Chamber Winds. She also enjoys teaching private students.
